Hi! I’m Christy.
Ever since I was a little girl I have always had a passion for helping people. In simple terms, I love people and I love bringing new perspectives to old problems. I live by the “glass half full” mentality. I believe that in order to feel better you have to be very aware of what you think about. What you focus on is what manifests on your life.
My work is to give you all of the tools that you need to feel better and to show up in your life. I want to open your mind to new practices and get you excited about life again.
my story
After being newly married and having 2 beautiful children I couldn’t stop thinking about my mom. My mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at 48 and died by 53. They found a 6 pound tumor in one of her ovaries the day she found out she had cancer.
At 39 years old I decided to have a genetic test done to see if I carried the BRCA1 gene. BRCA1 means that you are high risk for breast and ovarian cancer. It’s the same gene that Angelina Jolie carries.
When the doctor called me a few weeks later and asked me to come into his office, I knew what that meant.
He told me that I was a carrier. Turns out I was high risk for both cancers. He strongly suggested that I have both breasts and my ovaries removed. I lost my mom, my aunt and my grandmother to ovarian cancer. At 39 years old, a husband and two kids, I didn’t want to die….. So I decided to have 3 major preventative surgery’s preformed in one year. I’m telling you this story not because I’m looking for sympathy, but because I want to inspire you.
I remember writing my daughter a note the morning of my double masactamy surgery. I told her I loved her so much and I would see her later.
The truth is I was so scared.
It’s those moments in life that MAKE YOU. They make you stronger. They make you reflect on your life. They shine a light on everything that matters to you. After a 7 hour surgery I made it and I was in recovery.
Opting for surgery when you are sick is hard. Opting for surgery when you are well… that’s brave. I have always been a gambler and I knew that the odds were against me on this one.
I have never been the same since then. After facing those kind of decisions I now feel like a superhero.
Nothing scares me. I look at life everyday as a blessing. I want to help you to overcome anything in your life that may look like an obstacle. You can turn your life around in a day, if you have the right mindset.
So let’s think about your life and what YOU have had to overcome. What has MADE YOU?
